ISTANBUL...HERE I COME!! : Part 2

Day 2 : Free and easy Istanbul : Out and About Sultan Ahmed Square and Blue Mosque

Cuti kali ini mmg free and easy Istanbul sbb short vacay je. Takde le nak ke daerah lain kecuali Bursa (next episode). Lagik bawak budak2, walau nak kurangkan adventure tp hermmm walah adventure semacam sbb jalan berbatu2 masa ronda pekan Istanbul lama. Istanbul terbahagi kepada 2 yakni Istanbul on the European side and Asia Istanbul, and ada Istanbul lama and modern, Yg kena bom kt Taksim square tu kira bah. modern la tu, lepas je kitaorang blk Mesia. Masa sari dua pegi kena bom kt Ankara. It is very sad it happens in a country such beautiful and historical like Istanbul, I mean everyone should come to Istanbul and blend, learn their culture and history. Dah org plak takut nak pegi, kitaoarang tawakkal tu alallah je lah masa nak pegi tu sbb yg kt SultanAmmed plak tu happened just around the corner masa nak gi dah tu.

Dah.. pepagi dah kenyang makan sume, ready to explore pekan lama Istanbul. Percubaan selfie yg masih tak jadi dicermin keramat kt dapur. Eyeback cantik sgt, rasanya dua jam je tido kot, jetlag ko.. anak akak tu kul 4 pagi sedo2 tgh melayan kartun

OOtd.. ntah apa2 akak outfitkan anak akak... joheun achim from Son ye-jin !!

one more shoot, dont you dare to fall asleep! It's not Malaysia time, wake up!

Okay, ditangga nilah melonggok tunggu sampai cukup korum.

 Ready, moh jenjalan!

Rombongan Cikgu Kiah di Istanbul..mmg bangunan dia rapat2, steep2, tonggang tonggek dibuatnya nak berjalan, rasanya 10 kilo kalori terbako sepanjang dok sini. Tp lepas makan dia menambah balik, amazing betul.

Haseki tu bermaksud macam Sultana, or queen. Sultan2 Ottoman sebenarnya tak le ber queen mana sbb dia ramai gundik, any concubine yg bore the waris can jadi Haseki Sultan. Nti citer panjang lebor in the next entry.

Ha kedudukan geografi yg berbukit bukau mmg seksa le klu bawak stroller.

Sepanjang jalan jumpa kedai2 and cafe... kebab kepab kebap...

Okay, dah sikit semput jumpalah Sultan Ahmet square. Yg kena bom awal tahun ni kt area sini ler, scary gek you...

Ini banyak energy, dr mana dtg tak tau...

With Cik Dayang n Myreen, partner in crime Aleesya.

Cat and dog, bergaduh sepanjang masa..

Apahal mamat berdua tu tak pasti lah akak..

Di hippodrome. Masa zaman Byzantine, hippodrome ni kira cam stadium terbukalah utk upacara besar yg disaksikan oleh the Emperor macam lumba kuda, lawan kekuatan pendekar, upacara keagamaan etc.

Monumen belakang tu is The Obelisk of Theodosius ; the Ancient Egyptian obelisk of Pharaoh Thutmose III, re-erected in the Hippodrome of Constantinople (which is in the SultanAhmet square today) ; by the the Roman emperor Theodosius I in the 4th century AD. The Roman emperor, Constantius II (337–361 AD) telah membawa granit merah ini sepanjang Sg Nil, Mesir ke Alexandria sbg memperingati 20 thn takhta beliau. Theodosius I pula had it transported to Constantinople and put up on thespina of the Hippodrome. Wahh wiki sgt ni. Obelisk tu adalah sejenis red granite.

Ok, jumpa tulip byk sikit, 4 beradik amik gamba.

Little cousins... tgh makan roti butterscotch, satu kotak maklang bawak. Sejuk2 lapa sesaja, so bwk bekal jalan. Baru nak mintak sikit tgk2 dah licin...

The Blue Mosque

The Blue Mosque or Sultanahmet Camii in Turkish, is an historical mosque in Istanbul. Org Turkey panggil mosque sbg Camii (jamek). Kt Turkey there are thousands of mosques. This mosque is known as the Blue Mosque because of blue tiles surrounding the walls of interior design.Mosque was built between 1609 and 1616 years, during the rule of Ahmed I.It comprises a tomb of the founder, a madrasa and a hospice.

Actually, masa Sultan Ahmed 1 ni ruling, baginda tak byk bawak kemenangan dalam siri perang perluasan empayar Ottoman macam predecessor nya. Most of kekayaan Ottoman empire ni datangnya dari war. So utk masih menggambarkan dan mengembalikan kekuasaan Ottoman empire, Sultan Ahmed 1 decided to build a big mosque after kalah dlm perang dgn Persia. Besides still used as a mosque, the Sultan Ahmed Mosque has also become a popular tourist attraction in Istanbul. The Sultan Ahmed Mosque has five main domes, six minarets, and eight secondary domes. So di Istanbul, byk masjid yg jadik tourist atrraction, antaranya Blue Mosque ini, Syukurlah, ianya tidak dijadikan muzium utk tatapan semata2 cam Hagia Sofia. This is an active mosque, it's closed to non worshippers for a half hour or so during the five daily prayers. But I didn't have a chance to witness any. Kita pegi pagi2 sgt kan.. anyway, bila time azan for prayer, both masjids (Blue Mosque and Hagia Sophia) saling bersahutan kedengaran azannya. Both are bersetentang gitu. Best way to enter adalah dr Hippodrome, di SultanAhmet square tadi. Kena bukak kasut, dia siapkan plastik dah siap2.

Jangan tertipu ngan pandangan mata pd jagung di sini huahhhh tawar n keras je.. sbb tu le org dia cam sihat2... exercise hari2 naik turun bukit pastu mknan cam tak berapa perasa sgt, klu kt kita siap boh margerin ngan garam lagi...

The majestic Blue Mosque... pandang dekat mcm kena cat sket la. The Ottoman Sultans during their reigning years, banyak dirikan masjid. Di era kegemilangannya, they were very hebat dgn architecture, law (kanun), art, and education. Banyak madrasah didirikan oleh rulers, begitu jua hamam, the Turkish famous bath. Mmg popular sungguh hamam yg bertile marble tu.

Dua tu pesen Mongolia mana tahh

 From inside, beautiful and serene.

 Dah ngantuk dah budak tu.

The architecture, ada unsur Roman (Byzantine christian elements, inspired also from the neighbouring Hagia Sophia) yg digabungkan dengan Islamic architecture.

4 sisters

Outside.. the square. At the back was the famous Hagia Sophia. Tp masuk hari lain, Dua group patut dalam 2 kamera yg berbeza tp dah tertangkap sekali. Obviously kamera lagi satu yg hebat.

Us. Aleesya nak oiii... masa ni dah mengadu penat. Boley dipuji bawa berjalan, Walau sesekali menangis sbb penat dan nak nap, tp kena heret juga jalan beratus km (okay, sedikit exaggerating). Lepas hilang ngantuk dia ok dan aktif balik.

Sesekali angin sejuk dtg menampar muka dan mata, berair2 airmata ngan air hidung.. cheq tak tahannn... brrr

Ok, ngantuk dah hilang kembali senyum.

Belakang tu laluan tram. Takde kereta masuk pekan sgt, depa guna tram je.

Okay, sambung jalan mendaki2. Nak pi tukar lira. Masa kt Mesia, depa kata tukar Euro je. Sbb Euro diterima gek, tp pd aku baik le guna lira, esp. nak shopping kt pekan and bazaar. Time ni Rm1 bersamaan 1.5 lira.

 Tram tgh pekan.

Jalan2 lalu kt resto telan2 ailio. Mmg aim resto ni dah. Mlm last tertunai jugak hajatnya.

 Hello maklang...

 Makcik2 tgh meroti kt display,

 Meroti makciknya

Ammar sempat sauk fries McD sepupunya.

The delicacies... uishhh org Turkey mmg sweet tooth. Aiol kenot tahan manis, mmg manis overdose sume manisan dia. Tp patut lah pun sbb depa pun kuat 'exercise' dgh structure berbukit2nya. Takde chan nak diabetis gamaknya.

At the streets...

UP NEXT : At the bazaar and bustling streets... Ahmad Badawi??? Malaysia? - hey...plis...we're in the 21st century...dont pretend you dont know Najib laaa... or you so good buy people heart ehh?? hihi
